Tîn Droi
Online project and publication
Artist: Bedwyr Williams
Client: National Trust Cymru
Location: Online
Services: Project Management
Phase: Completed 2025
In 2025 Studio Response worked closely with artist Bedwyr Williams on Tîn Droi a project which took visitors on an alternative and often humorous tour, dawdling around National Trust Cymru (NTC) places.
The digital commission shared via a dedicated Instagram channel @tindroi_dawdle fictional stories and narratives based around the hearsay, gossip and shaggy dog tails of NTC properties and their local areas. Appropriating some familiar characters from Williams’ highly popular instagram account @bedwyr_williams the commission provided a third person commentary on the experience of visiting an NTC property from the point of view of ’Airbnb Cleaner’ and ‘Man Who Absolutely Loves Clothes’. Each drawing was created by Williams using an ipad and was uploaded to Instagram weekly from March - August 2025.
The commission culminated in Tîn Droi – a limited-edition book published by the National Trust containing almost 600 drawings. Williams journeyed from Anglesey in the north-west to Newport in the south-east, taking in everything from the views at Rhossili to the gardens at Powis Castle. Other locations featured in the book include Conwy Suspension Bridge, Bodnant Garden, Dinefwr, Erddig, Dyffryn Gardens and Llanerchaeron.
Tîn Droi by Bedwyr Williams was commissioned by National Trust Cymru and produced by Studio Response.
