Taith Newydd is a specialist low secure unit in Bridgend offering specialist mental health support and physical healthcare for service users with more complex needs. Taith Newydd has 28 en-suite bedrooms on two wards, with a range of facilities including games rooms, a gym and therapeutic areas. On behalf of Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board, Studio Response commissioned art therapist and moving image artist Michael Cousin to produce a public artwork which has created an ongoing educational and therapeutic resource for the residents.

Cousin produced a short film, hosted a series of creative workshops with the staff and residents, providing training in video production, and installed ward-based video editing facilities for the community at Taith Newydd to continue making and editing their own films as part of their therapy.
