Post Project Evaluation for Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children

Studio Response was invited to join the multi-disciplinary team assembled by the BRE Group (an independent and impartial research-based advisory, testing, and training organisation), to deliver the Post Project Evaluation of Phase 2B of Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children’s new Premier Inn Clinical Building (PICB), and its contribution to the vision of the Mittal Children’s Centre.

It was heartening to see that an evaluation of the process and benefits delivered by the arts commissions embedded in the new Premier Inn Clinical Building formed part of the Post Project Evaluation Brief, specifically the building in use evaluation.

Studio Response’s remit included:

• Examining the process of commissioning and engagement with staff, patients and families
• Examining the impact of the arts programme on the wellbeing of patients, staff and families
• Assessing the quality of the artworks / projects / outcomes
• Exploring the contribution of the arts commission to the overall design brief

Studio Response’s final report was informed by interviews, a field study and benchmarking with other exemplar commissioning programmes in a healthcare setting.
